Even if you lose your financial aid eligibility, you can work to reclaim it. If you’ve defaulted on a student loan but now require more aid, you must get out of default first. If your grades have slipped, you can try to appeal the decision with your school. For drug-related offenses, you will need to wait a full academic year or complete an approved drug rehabilitation program to regain eligibility early.
