Kentucky State Financial Aid: Grants & Scholarships

The state of Kentucky offers financial aid opportunities to Kentucky residents including grants and scholarship programs. 

File FAFSA®

The first step to an affordable college education in Kentucky is filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA®. This financial aid application determines student eligibility for federal student loans, grants including the Pell grant, work-study programs, and some scholarships. 

Apply for Kentucky State Financial Aid

College Access Program Grant

This grant is available for undergraduate students who are residents of Kentucky with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of less than $3,800. Students must also be enrolled in a Kentucky college or university at least part-time. 

To apply, students must complete the FAFSA® application. 

Kentucky Tuition Grant

To be eligible for this grant, students must be Kentucky state residents who plan on attending an independent school in a Baccalaureate or Associate program on a full time basis.

To apply, students must complete the FAFSA® application. 

KHEEA Teacher Scholarship

This grant is available to full-time undergraduate students who plan on pursuing a teaching certificate. Students must demonstrate financial need and not be in default of any grants or loans. 

To apply students must complete their FAFSA® application and fill out the Teacher Scholarship Application.
