The state of Louisiana offers financial aid opportunities to Louisiana residents including grants and scholarship programs.
The first step to an affordable college education in Louisiana is filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA®. This financial aid application determines student eligibility for federal student loans, grants including the Pell grant, work-study programs, and some scholarships.
Apply for Louisiana State Financial Aid
The state of Louisiana has established an agency called the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) to manage college aid programs in the state.
Louisiana Go Grant
This state grant was created to help students who demonstrate great financial need. To qualify for this grant students must:
- Be a Louisiana resident
- File the FAFSA®
- Be a Pell grant recipient
- Be a student enrolled in an eligible Louisiana institution on at least a half-time basis
- Have remaining financial need beyond the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC)
To apply, students must file the FAFSA® application.
