Massachusetts State Financial Aid: Grants & Scholarships

The state of Massachusetts offers financial aid opportunities to Massachusetts residents including grants and scholarship programs. 

First, File FAFSA®

The first step to an affordable college education in Massachusetts is filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA®. This financial aid application determines student eligibility for federal student loans, grants including the Pell grant, work-study programs, and some scholarships. 

Apply for Massachusetts State Financial Aid

MASSGrant

This state sponsored grant is available for students who demonstrate financial need and enroll in approved courses. To be eligible, students must have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) of less than $4,995. Students must also be enrolled in classes full-time. 

To apply, students must file their FAFSA® application. 

Massachusetts Part-Time Grant

Did you File FAFSA® Yet

This grant was created for students who don’t have the ability to attend classes full-time and want to pursue a degree. This grant is available to eligible students who are enrolled in 6-11 credit hours per semester who want to pursue higher education. 

To apply, students must file their FAFSA® application.
