The Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA®, is the first step to receiving financial aid to pay for college in Montana. This application determines student eligibility for federal loans, grants like the Pell grant, work-study programs, and even some scholarships. 

Apply for Montana State Financial Aid 

The state of Montana offers a variety of grants and scholarships to help students within the state find the extra money they need to pay for their college education.

Best & Brightest Program

This financial aid program was created to help Montana college-bound students gain access to affordable education. To qualify, students must maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher and file their FAFSA® application. 

To apply, students only need to file the FAFSA® application on time. 

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship Program

This scholarship program is for honors-level high school seniors who stand out amongst their peers. To be selected for this scholarship students must already be accepted into a four-year college and be maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress.
